What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a form of natural health care that focuses on helping a patient
without the use of drugs or medicines.

Chiropractic concerns itself with the relationship between the structure (primarily
the spine) and the function (primarily coordinated by the nervous system) of the
human body. The vertebrae, which protect the nervous system, when misaligned
or lose its normal motion, causes malfunction of the tissues and organs throughout
the body. The misalignment is referred to as a SUBLUXATION.

The Doctor of Chiropractic is a highly trained health care provider who utilizes
specific scientific techniques and procedures to detect, analyze, and correct the
vertebral subluxation. Once it is diagnosed, the chiropractor performs specific
vertebral adjustments to reduce the subluxation and return the vertebrae to a
more normal juxtaposition. This process removes neurological distress allowing the
body to return to a balanced state of physiological functioning.

Doctors of Chiropractic, more commonly known as chiropractors, are primary
health care providers licensed in all 50 states. Chiropractors are recognized by
governmental health care programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Workers'
Compensation programs and more. Every year, more than 30 million Americans
see chiropractors as part of the regular health care programs. There are over
84,000 licensed chiropractors nationwide and more than 10,000 students currently
enrolled in chiropractic school making chiropractic the fastest growing health care
profession in the world.
